Pesto, originated in Geneva (Liguria), it is a sauce made out of garlic, basil, olive oil, salt, parmesan cheese and pine nuts.
This sauce has spread within Italy with many variations from north to south and it is also known worldwide. In fact can be made also with almonds, tomatoes, bell peppers, depending on which part of Italy it has developed.
